Request a Free AssessmentFresh mulch is one of the simplest, highest-impact things you can do for your trees and garden. Tree Doctors delivers bulk mulch and wood chips across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area – straight from our tree care operations to your property.
Our wood chips and mulch come directly from our tree removal and trimming operations – freshly chipped, natural, and free of additives. Whether you're mulching around trees, covering garden beds, or surfacing a pathway, we deliver in bulk quantities to residential and commercial properties. We serve homeowners and businesses across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, and Oakville.
Mulch works best as part of a broader approach to tree and garden health – Tree Doctors has you covered.
The right tree in the right place makes all the difference. We help you select and plant species suited to your soil, climate, and goals – giving your new trees the best possible start for long-term growth.
Healthy trees start with proper pruning. Our arborists remove dead or overgrown branches to improve structure, promote growth, and reduce the risk of branch failure – keeping your trees looking great and your property safer.
A leftover stump is more than an eyesore – it's a tripping hazard and an obstacle for your next landscaping project. We grind stumps down to below grade so your yard is clean, safe, and ready for what's next.
From office parks to retail properties, we provide comprehensive tree care programs for commercial clients. Scheduled maintenance, risk management, emergency response – customized to your property's needs and your business's timeline.
Young and established trees alike benefit from targeted fertilization. We deliver nutrients directly to the root zone, improving soil health and giving your trees the foundation they need to grow strong.
Compacted soil is one of the biggest obstacles to healthy root development. Our aeration service loosens the soil around your trees, improving water and nutrient absorption right where it matters most.
Not all mulch is created equal. Dyed, processed, or improperly composted mulch can introduce disease, alter soil pH, and do more harm than good – especially when applied around trees.
At Tree Doctors, our wood chips come directly from our own tree care operations. They're natural, untreated, and freshly chipped – which means they break down gradually, improve soil biology over time, and won't introduce contaminants to your garden or root zone.
Our ISA-certified arborists can also advise on proper mulch application – depth, placement relative to tree trunks, and which areas of your property will benefit most. It's a simple material, but applied correctly it makes a meaningful difference.

Mulch breaks down over time and needs to be replenished to stay effective. Here's when it's time for a fresh delivery.
Bare or exposed soil around trees and garden beds. Exposed soil loses moisture faster, compacts more easily, and is more vulnerable to weed growth. A fresh layer of mulch addresses all three problems at once.
Weeds taking over your garden beds. Mulch is one of the most effective weed suppressants available. A proper 3–4 inch layer blocks light to weed seeds and dramatically reduces the time you spend pulling them.
Trees showing signs of moisture stress. If your trees are wilting or showing early signs of drought stress during dry periods, improving moisture retention around the root zone with fresh mulch can make a significant difference.
Your existing mulch has broken down. Mulch that has fully decomposed into the soil has lost most of its protective value. When your layer drops below 2 inches, it's time to top it up.
You're starting a new planting or landscaping project. Any time you're putting new plants or trees in the ground, mulching immediately after is one of the best investments you can make for their long-term success.

Wood chips are coarser, freshly chipped material – ideal for pathways, tree rings, and areas where you want good drainage and slow breakdown. Mulch is finer and more processed, better suited for garden beds where a tidier appearance matters. We can advise on which is right for your application.
A general rule is one cubic yard of mulch covers approximately 100 square feet at a 3-inch depth. For tree rings, a 3–4 inch layer applied in a wide circle – keeping mulch away from the trunk – is standard. We're happy to help you estimate based on your specific area.
Three to four inches is the recommended depth for most applications. Avoid piling mulch against tree trunks – this traps moisture and can cause bark decay and root problems over time. Keep a clear gap of a few inches around the base of every tree.
No. Our wood chips come directly from our tree care operations and are completely natural and untreated. No dyes, no additives, no processed materials.
We drop loads at the most accessible point on your property – driveway, front yard, or side gate depending on truck access. If you need material spread or moved to a specific area, let us know when you request a quote and we can discuss options.
Delivery timelines depend on our current schedule and material availability. In most cases we can accommodate within a few days. For larger or time-sensitive orders, contact us directly and we'll do our best to work around your timeline.
